This coffee house is the result of a simple “yes” and many grueling months of hard work. We had a dream dating back several years of having a space where heaven and earth touch, where a community could be built, our neighborhood impacted, and the fire of prayer continues. In our early years in Ukraine, it became evident that our ministry cannot be limited to events. We were longing for something that would last after the last "amen" is said and the lights are turned off.

When we would visit churches, our ministry included gathering regularly for prayer and worship, intending to excite a lifestyle of devotion within our hosting community. As we continued to organize mission trips and other ministry events, we gradually realized that our effectiveness was limited and that we needed God's tangible presence among us more than we ever realized. This revelation laid the groundwork to open up a prayer room where a community could gather around the presence of God, and in turn, transform the community around them.

We are now six months after opening Kultura, and what was once just a dream is slowly coming into fruition before our very eyes. What has taken place is more than we expected. This is changing the way we do missions. Since we have opened this place, we have discovered how the culture we carry creates the grounds for the gospel seed to reach the human heart. So, onward we go in this seemingly crazy experiment. I can see the cloud and the pillar of fire, and I can tell you now, we will see all of God’s promises fulfilled.
